The Mandeville Trailhead offers plenty area for enjoying weekly events and a brief stroll to nearby Lake Ponchartrain.
Be sure to visit the Abita Springs Farmers Market after a walk on the trail. Also, The Tammany Trace Trailhead Headquarters at Koop Drive is just shy of 5 miles from Abita and has an inclusive playground called Kids Konnection, where children with or without special needs can enjoy playing together.
Continuing the journey about 7 miles away is where you can explore scenic Bayou Lacombe along with cemeteries and ancient live oaks. The Bayou Lacombe drawbridge is down from sunrise to sunset.
The trek to the Slidell - Carollo Trailhead is slightly over 7 miles with shopping and restaurants for enjoyment. Enjoy a picnic at Heritage Park or view the 9/11 Memorial Plaza. The trail ends here or begins here depending on where you start!
